Some safety reminders with peak boating season just around the corner

Texas is a mandatory boater education state. Completion of a Boater Education Course, or TPWD prescribed equivalency exam, is required of anyone born on or after September 1, 1993 who operates any vessel over 15 horsepower, wind-blown vessel over 14 feet and all personal watercraft on Texas.

Surface rehabilitation SH 8 – At Sulphur River, replacing bridges I-30 - At Hooks/Exit 208, daytime ramp closures from 5/13 - 5/15. Pavement repair Cass County US 59 – From SL 236 to FM 3129, resurfacing road. Southbound lane closure SH 8 – At Sulphur River, replacing bridges Harrison County US 59 – At I-20, replacing bridge. US 59 traffic shifted to northbound lanes I-20 – From SH 43 to Gregg County line, rehab existing roadway. Daytime lane closures FM 3001 – At Little Cypress Bayou Relief, replacing bridge. Temporary traffic signals in place, lane closure with two-way traffic US 80 - From Tom Brown Pkwy to Gregg Co. line, rehab existing roadway Marion County SH 155 - At Lake O’ The Pines, replacing bridge. Lane, shoulder closures Morris County I-30 – US 259 westbound entrance and exit ramps. Widening and pavement repair Panola County SH 149 – 0.8 miles south of SH 315 to US 59, widening road. Eastbound ramp to US 59 closed, detour in place US 59 - At FM 1794, constructing interchange SH 315 - From FM 1970 to Rusk Co. line, resurfacing road CR 173 - At Beck Creek. Bridge replacement. Daytime lane closures Titus County SH 49 - From BU 271 to US 271, resurfacing road. Lane, shoulder closures BU 271 - At I-30 overpass, replacing bridge rail. Lane closure FM 1735 - From SH 49 to FM 4000, widening road, closed to thru traffic US 271 – At Dickson Creek, Big Slough Creek, White Oak Creek & White Oak Creek Relief, replacing bridges Upshur County US 80 - From Wood County line to 0.3 miles east of SH 155N, resurfacing road.
