Northeast Texas has experienced abnormally high heat this August, with much of the state being under heat advisories. With the high heat and dry conditions Cass County continues to be under a burn ban. The good news is this week the area will receive a bit of a respite with temperatures around the low 90’s. It is still important to stay hydrated and not to leave children or pets unattended in vehicles.

Beginning Tuesday, September 5th (closed Monday, September 4th for Labor Day), Cass County residents can process their vehicle tag renewals five days per week at the Chamber of Commerce Office, located at 101 N East Street. Office hours are Monday through Friday, 9: 00 AM – 4:00 PM, closed from 12:00 – 1:00 PM for lunch.
