Price Daniel, Sr., had a distinguished career serving Texas and the nation. By 1952, he had already served as an army officer, Texas House Speaker, and attorney general. At the age of 42 in 1952, his political career was only beginning with his election to the U. S. Senate.

Price Daniel was one of the few men in Texas History to serve in all three branches of state government – as governor, state legislator, and state Supreme Court justice. He was known for his sense of right and wrong, but his stands were sometimes controversial. In a political career that spanned decades, Daniel became one of the most wellknown figures in the state.
