Steven Hays, fellow Lion member, Media and Associate Pastor at Cornerstone Assembly of God Church was the guest speaker for the Atlanta Lions Club today. Steven is the owner of AVL. He has had an interesting career since graduating from school.
Friday, September 17, was National Constitution Day Mr. & Mrs. Lee from the East Texas Republican Women came to speak to the 5th grade students at Morris Upchurch Middle School about the U.S. Constitution the amendments, and their rights as citizens.
Mrs. Shannon Peacock has taken on the task of teaching Bloomburg’s talented students the world of hospitality. Last week she worked with the students on basic baking skills which included measuring ingredients, understanding cooking directions and using utensils. “Everything in the classroom is new and I have a Hospitality 1 and 2 class,” Peacock said. “We are bringing Home Ec. back. We are learning safety, how to cook, and all aspects of the hospitality world.” Pictured: Ashlyn Cox and Cassie, Jacee and Kaleigh Glasgow learn the basics of Home Economics which Bloomburg ISD revived this year. Using the knowledge taught to them, the ladies made pies.
