Now through December 6, 2021, the Cass County Photography Contest is now open for 4H’ers. The extension office is asking that those interested register for this contest so that they can better document participation in this 4-H Project, as well as plans for judges, awards, and incentives They aim for a more successful experience this year and beyond. The CHRISTUS St. Michael Atlanta Foundation’s annual Christmas tree silent auction fundraiser is in full swing for the 2021 holiday season. All decorated trees are on display at Price Hardware, located at 302 N William St., Atlanta, TX. “The Christmas tree auction is a great way to get in to the holiday spirit and I always look forward to it,” said Melissa Kimble, Development Coordinator for CHRISTUS St. Michael Hospital-Atlanta. “I’m very thankful to our community supporters for decorating the trees and to Price Hardware for the hosting the auction”

Brooks, Jr. set to be in court this week

Charles Edwin Brooks, Jr., 29, of Atlanta, is set to appear in court this week, November 10, Brooks was taken into custody Monday, May 3, at 3:38 p.m. by Dallas County Sheriffs and charged with Injury to Child/Elderly/Disabled with Intent to cause Severe Bodily Injury and Serious Mental Deficiency or Impairment. This is a first-degree felony under Texas Penal Code 22.04, punishable by a maximum sentence of 99 years or life in prison and/ or a maximum fine of $10,000. According to the court, his lawyer for Brooks will meet with the prosecutor on his behalf.
