Last session in 2023, I added a directivei to the Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) for it to “evaluate the feasibility of the proposed Marvin Nichols Reservoir” (the Reservoir) to analyze its “implementation timeline, associated costs, land acquisition considerations and the economic impact.” Findings are be submitted no later than January 5, 2025.
Several months back the Brookshire’s stores were threatened with a bomb threat hoax. It has recently happened again in Cass County and the Northeast Texas area. District Attorney Courtney Shelton issues this press release on September 16 with the hopes of community conversations with area youth.
Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar announced Cass County is the latest local government entity to achieve a Transparency Star in recognition of excellence in debt obligations. This marks the second award for financial transparency this year for Cass County. Transparency Stars recognizes local government entities that provide easy online access to important financial data. The Comptroller’s office launched the Transparency Stars program in March 2016 to recognize cities, counties and school districts making important strides toward greater government transparency.
