The Caddo Wildflower Chapter of the Native Plant Society of Texas meets at 6:30 p.m. the fourth Tuesday of each month at the Mary Dougherty Senior Citizens Center, 507 S. Kaufman St., Linden. Meetings are open to the public and start with a potluck before ending with a native plants/flowers raffle.

At approximately 9 p.m. on Friday June 14, shots rang out in Cass County over the weekend leaving multiple injured and one dead. Initial reports were that there were two gunshot victims, one being shot in the head and the other sustaining gunshot wounds to the chest area. It was later revealed that there was a third gunshot victim and four individuals in total were present at the time of the shooting.
Maintenance to the water system left the City of Atlanta without running water Thursday evening for about six hours. On June 6, Atlanta City Manager Danica Porter issued an important public notice regarding conservation in anticipation of a planned repair at the water treatment plant at Graphic Packaging which processes the city water.
Mount of Blessing started in summer of 1923, several citizens of Atlanta, Texas felt that on old fashioned camp meeting should be established in or near the city. This feeling was put into action by Rev. Mary Ellen Perdue assisted by J.R. Ramsey with the cooperation of many others.
