Pedestrian deaths in Texas increase 15% in 2021
As pedestrian deaths continue to rise in Texas, TxDOT’s Be Safe. Drive Smart. Campaign urges drivers and pedestrians to watch out for each other.

Cass County Burn Ban
On July 8 County Judge Travis Ransom issued an order prohibiting outdoor burning. The burn ban stems from abnormally dry conditions. According to waterdatafortexas.com, Cass County is under moderate drought conditions. Even with Saturday’s welcome short rain shower, the county only has received approximately 2.5 inches, compared to normal rainfall of about 4.7 inches.
Geisler donates services
Geisler Dental Office volunteered their time to the community to help people who couldn’t afford dental services. CHRISTUS St. Michael Health System, in conjunction with Texas Dental Association Smiles Foundation (TDASF), is hosted a Texas Mission of Mercy (TMOM) Mobile Dental Clinic to deliver pain-relieving dental care at no cost to underserved Texarkana-area residents on June 17-18.
