Queen City ISD staff members gathered together by campuses at Morris Upchurch Middle School on Monday, Aug. 3, for their annual “Back to School” Convocation.
If you are looking for a fun mask-free activity to do with your children without having to drive too far, check out Lonesome Dove Safari Drive-Thru and Zoo. Located on Hwy 59, just before you reach Jefferson, the fenced property is full of exotic animals, including llamas, buffalo, elk, zebras and several varieties of deer and cattle from around the world. There is also a petting zoo where children can get up close and personal with a camel, goats, alpaca, a potbellied pig and a kangaroo.
After 30 years of being a nurse, Karen Daniel retired a few years ago to save her own health. Recently though, she decided to get back into the healthcare field and joined a home health company.

Bryan Lee Simmons, 49, of Cass County was indicted March 18 by a federal grand jury and charged with conspiring to distribute methamphetamine and using a firearm during and in relation to drug trafficking. Simmons was ordered detained pending trial.
