This year, due to unforeseen circumstances, the Cullen Baker Country Fair will not be held. Those who organize the festival that celebrates the end of a notorious desperado who terrorized parts of Texas and Arkansas say they plan to hold it next year and hope to have even more vendors and live music. Melissa Herrington, the Fair Coordinator, says that they also plan to add some exciting new things and bring back a few old favorites. While the Fair will not be able to donate its proceeds to the local fire department as they now are funded by the state, they instead plan to use those funds for upgrades throughout the community. The end of a legendary desperado whose deeds where nefarious at best and raising money for a beautiful cause in celebration of that end is admirable.
