Crowned as the 2022 Little Miss Fine Arts Queen was Little Miss Katelyn Chanel Russell with her escort, Kaigen Lloyd; First Runner-up was Keimorra Simmons; second runner-up was Cedar Ramsey, with escort River Ramsey; and third runner- up was Mackenzie Horsley.The pageant was held Saturday night at the First Baptist Church Life Center on Allday Street. As Atlanta and the surrounding area was populated by settlers from the East Coast, it wasn’t long before progress caught up to them and railroad tracks were laid to help them progress. When the Kansas City Southern Railway plotted their route between Shreveport and Texarkana in 1895, they built a depot six miles east of Atlanta and less than a half-mile from the Arkansas state line.
When James and Eloise Cothren exchanged vows seventy years ago, he had but five dollars to his name – he gave the preacher three and kept two to begin a new life with his sweetheart. That was October 17, 1952, and they’re still together.
