JOHN THOMAS CHAMBLEE John Thomas Chamblee was born January 31, 1843, (a twin to Jams E.) in Cherokee Co.. Georgia. His parents were William Chamlee, born ca 1818 and Elizabeth Pagh who were married Sept. 27, 1841 in Cherokee Co.
Work is continuing on the seven-year, $37.7 million project to replace bridges over the Sulphur River along State Highway 8 between Douglassville and Maud.
Northeast Texas has experienced abnormally high heat this August, with much of the state being under heat advisories. With the high heat and dry conditions Cass County continues to be under a burn ban. The good news is this week the area will receive a bit of a respite with temperatures around the low 90’s. It is still important to stay hydrated and not to leave children or pets unattended in vehicles.
