Santa pays an early visit

New Colony Baptist Church on U S.59 between Atlanta and Linden invited Santa Claus to come early Sunday afternoon. Seems the congregation wanted to give the children plenty of time to talk with the congenial figure. But the family (above) of Lovie, Ralph and Chance Terry ask “Why miss an opportunity? Let’s talk with Santa ourselves … and get a picture.” Watch for more pictures from New Colony’s special public happening in next week’s Citizens Journal-Sun.

Cold case solved after 42 years

It has been 42 long years since Karen and Gordon Alexander were found slain in their Texarkana home. According to police reports Weldon Eugene “Hip” Alexander from Bloomburg, Texas called the police to alert the authorities that his two children were stabbed in their home. It turned out years later a cold case was solved after DNA evidence implicated the father of the Alexander siblings.
