President declares Monkeypox a public health emergency

On August 4 the Biden administration declared monkeypox a public health emergency, with cases with increasing around the US. In Texas, as of August 5, there have been 556 cases reported. The state is divided into seven geographic areas with the Dallas, Houston, and the Austin region having the most cases respectively. The Northeast Texas region so far has had no reported cases.
