When we moved into what I call our Leave It to Beaver house five years ago it had a tree that had died but was left standing for the most part and it was about ten to fifteen feet tall.

An era in the story of rural electrification came to an end on July 20, 1991, with the death of Mrs. Mabel Bryan Morriss who was one of the main driving forces in the creation of Bowie-Cass Electric Cooperative. Mrs. Morriss, age 95, died in a Texarkana hospital following an extended illness. She served as secretary-treasurer on the Board of Directors of Bowie-Cass for 40 years and as mayor of Douglassville.
