Larry Roger Hagan, age 80, went to his heavenly home February 2, 2022 when the groundhogs declared more winter was ahead. He really loved Jesus and really did not like the cold. He was born March 13, 1941 in Maryville, Missouri to Virginia and Leonard Hagan. A resident of Mooresville, North Carolina, he would be better classified as a farm boy from Missouri with a Texas soul. He graduated from Northwest Missouri State in 1964 and then received a master’s degree from Truman State University in 1967 to become a passionate and impactful coach and math teacher, a career he loved and gladly served in for 38 years. He met the love of his life, Roberta (Switzer), when they were coaching opposing basketball teams and married her in 1966. They truly lived the commitment of love in sickness and in health through 55 years of marriage. After teaching and coaching for years in Missouri, they left in 1975 so Larry could pursue coaching Texas football. He touched the lives of countless kids in the Atlanta and Queen City schools before retiring.
