Mayor Travis Ransom placed a wreath at the Veterans Memorial in downtown Atlanta Sunday in lieu of the usual ceremony held annually. Ransom wrote, “The veterans memorial in Atlanta is special to me because the plans were originally drawn on a cardboard box by my father. My name, and the names of my veteran ancestors going back to the Revolutionary War are on the memorial bricks there.”

U.S. Rep. John Ratcliffe for the 4th District was confirmed Thursday as Director of National Intelligence. According to the Texas Republican party, Ratcliffe’s confirmation has created a vacancy on the ballot for the congressional seat in November.

Atlanta First Baptist Church celebrated the end of their children’s music department’s year. Much like other graduations, this is normally met with a celebration. Music, treats, fun, and games, but this year, things are a little different. Taking precautions, Brittanie Lowery, who oversees the department, opted instead, for a drive-thru gift basket and bubble giveaway.
