Multiple families displaced after Hughes Springs apartment fire
Several families lost everything just days before Christmas when an apartment fire ravaged a unit at Patman Switch Apartments in Hughes Springs. Eight units were destroyed in the blaze, displacing eight families in the middle of the holiday season.
Local leaders discuss, pass policy at annual meeting
Cass County was represented at the annual meeting of the state’s largest general farm and ranch organization in December. Four delegates from Cass County Farm Bureau traveled to Corpus Christi Dec. 3-5 where they helped shape the policy direction of Texas Farm Bureau (TFB).
Webster wounded in stabbing
The Atlanta Police Department confirmed that Brunette Oliver stabbed Titus Webster several times in the 600 block of Allday Street. It was reported by an observer on the scene that the argument started over a phone charger, however the Atlanta Police Department could not confirm that information.
FUMC - Queen City free meal
The First United Methodist Church in Queen City, Texas will be serving a free meal of beans and cornbread on Monday, January 10, 2022 beginning at 11:00 a.m. After a short devotional, the meal will be served.
