Former AES principal inducted

Todd Marshall, former Atlanta Educator was one of five area SAU educational leadership alumni were inducted into the fourth Educational Leadership Hall of Fame Induction and Banquet at Southern Arkansas University on Monday, November 8, 2021. Honored at the event for their outstanding achievements in the field other than Marshall were Fred Lilly, David Downs, Debbie Huff, Sherri Moore, and Dr. Kenneth Booth. From 2015-2018, Marshall was the Principal for Atlanta Elementary School, currently the Director of CTE and STEM for TISD.

Carter & Sarah Cannon

Carter C. Cannon and his wife Sarah (perhaps Latimer - not proved) emigrated to the part of Texas that became Cass Co. in October 1841 from Yalobusha Co., MS, where they had lived since the early 1830s. He patented his Cass land in 1856 and 1857.

Cass County Genealogical Society’s President Charlotte Evans presented The C.C.G.S. Editor, George Frost with a certificate from The Texas State Genealogical Society for winning second place in their “Best Journals In The State Contest”. George’s entries were the Cass County Connections Spring & Summer 2020, Fall & Winter 2020, and Spring & Summer 2021 Journals. These journals are published twice a year and contain a collection of articles about the people and history of Northeast Texas.
