A season of giving

This week, on social media, I asked churches, organizations, and businesses to post pictures and information on what they were doing around town this Christmas to help those in need. I thought it was a telling sign when nobody posted anything. Typically, we get lots of pictures when we ask about the things people are doing around the community. Don’t get me wrong; I know better than to believe it isn’t happening because I see it happening all over the community. The truth is that giving this time of year comes naturally to those in the community.

Lithium Uptate

Lithium continues to be a hot topic in the area because it has the potential to radically change the region’s economic landscape. After the first of the year, we will be reporting on two significant lithium plants moving into the area. This week, there was a newsworthy item to come across the wire.

Water challenges hit area

On October 18, East Hiram’s waterline broke. Work started at approximately midnight. According to City Manager Danica Porter, the switch has been made to the new water tower, and the water pressure is greater than that of the previous tower, causing some breaks. They are currently working on the issue. Atlanta ISD classes were canceled.
