Countless men and women have dedicated their lives to helping children. Most successful people in the world will point to those special influences from their childhoods for their inspiration. Texan Edna Gladney devoted her life to improving the lives of children, providing love and finding homes for children. Gladney began a movement that made life better for children across the state.

When Bill Clinton and Barak Obama were president, many members of Congress vehemently opposed their policies and politics. We truly believed they had bad ideas for America, but most of us did not question their mental acuity because we had no reason to. After witnessing Joe Biden interact with the press, elected leaders, and international diplomats over the last few months, many Americans and I are fearful he does not possess the mental capacity to lead the United States of America.

Galveston, once the most important port city in Texas, suffered a crushing blow with the hurricane of 1900. Once the waters receded and the extent of the damage became clear, the city faced the overwhelming task of rebuilding. One of the most important tasks, surviving residents decided, was to ensure that such a disaster never repeated itself. This meant the construction of a seawall along the coast to shield the city from the full fury of future storms. To design the wall and oversee its construction, Galveston recruited a team of the best engineers they could find, led by one of the most respected names in engineering at the time, Gen. Henry Martyn Robert.
