City perseveres

During times of fear and uncertainty, residents may look to those in charge of what to do and even words of encouragement. They are the leaders who oversee the day to day workings of a city. They are those who work to keep residents safe and secure. They work tirelessly, day in and day out to maintain a semblance of normalcy. These are trying times indeed, and yet, those such as City Manager Bob Swisher are continuing to work to maintain a city so beloved by its residents.

L-K issued a statement on their Facebook page letting the Linden-Kildare community know about delivery of school lunches, “to say I am proud of these folks is a real understatement!! In just a few days they have managed to make it possible to feed and deliver instructional materials to all of our L-K kids!!! Starting Monday, we will run buses down all of our routes. Even if you are not a normal bus rider, we will stop at your house! We will stop, honk, and wait a bit before moving on to the next house. Please come out and greet us! We will not leave our bus, but we will deliver breakfast and lunch every day from 11-1. Just have the students come out and get it. On Tuesday, we will deliver instructional materials as well. We set up an email address for any questions that you may have or if for whatever reason a bus did not come by your house, we want to know. The email is LKhelpline@ lkcisd.net. if you do not want your kids to come out or you don’t live in our district, meals can still be picked up at the Junior High cafeteria from 11-1.”

“Beginning Wednesday, any student who did not receive an instructional packet can come by the administration office to pick theirs up. We want to make sure our kids stay sharp and don’t regress any before we return to school. Since this is a new situation for everyone, the district encourages the community to ‘please be patient’ with us as we learn together and let us know if you have any questions!”
